Class Matters

Volunteer & mentor

Give an hour. Change a trajectory.

You don’t need to be a teacher. You need a job a teen has never seen up close, and two hours a month. We handle the rest โ€” curriculum, scheduling, and training included.

Pick your commitment, not a program

[Bracketed spot counts are illustrative โ€” pull real openings from the volunteer coordinator each semester. A live number is a powerful nudge; a fake one is a broken promise.]

What happens after you sign up

Four steps. About two weeks.

1
We call you.

A 15-minute chat about your skills, schedule, and which role fits. Within two business days.

2
Background check.

Required for every role with student contact. We cover the cost; it takes about a week.

3
One training session.

90 minutes โ€” how our programs run, safeguarding rules, and what great mentoring looks like here.

4
You meet your teens.

First session shadowed by staff. After that, you're part of the family.

I have learned how to actually engage and work with parents and kids, and talk in front of a group of people.

Mr. Lamkin gave me a chance to gain knowledge about FTC โ€” a smaller version of First Robotics โ€” that I would have never known about without his help.

Volunteer interest

Two minutes now, two hours a month later.

Tell us your time and your skill. Program matching happens in the follow-up call โ€” you don’t need to know our pillars to start.

Employers: many companies sponsor volunteer hours or match them with grants. Ask us about group volunteering days for your team.
