Before a student learns anything with us, they have to be safe with us. This page lays out exactly how we protect the young people in our care — and the information you trust us with.
Every adult background-checked · Two-adult rule · Mandatory reporters · Report a concern ↗
Every staff member, mentor, and volunteer passes a criminal background check before any contact with students, rechecked [annually].
No adult is ever alone, one-on-one and unobserved, with a student. Sessions are staffed and visible at all times.
All adults sign and follow a code of conduct covering boundaries, communication, transportation, and contact outside programming.
Staff and volunteers complete safeguarding and mandatory-reporter training before working with students, refreshed [yearly].
Our team are mandatory reporters. Any suspicion of harm is reported to the proper Oklahoma authorities — no exceptions.
Mentor–student communication happens through approved channels, with guardians able to be copied on request.
Every adult with student access completes a criminal background check and reference review before their first session, and is re-screened [annually]. Mentors complete an additional interview and onboarding.
Programming is designed so no student is ever alone with a single unobserved adult. One-on-one mentoring takes place in public, observable settings.
All staff and volunteers sign a code of conduct that defines appropriate boundaries, prohibits private contact and gifts, sets rules for transportation, and explains the consequences of any violation. [Link the PDF.]
Our team are mandatory reporters under Oklahoma law. Anyone — student, parent, staff, or volunteer — can raise a concern in good faith without retaliation.
We only photograph or feature a student when a guardian has given written consent on the registration form. Consent is optional, can be withdrawn at any time, and is never a condition of participation.
We collect only what we need to serve your student and report responsibly to funders. Demographic fields are optional and never affect enrollment. We never sell or rent your information. You can request a copy, correction, or deletion of your data at any time.
Any concern about a student’s safety is taken seriously and handled promptly and confidentially. You can report in good faith without fear of retaliation.
